Ingredient Notes
You only need a handful of simple ingredients to turn classic Rice Krispie treats into a fun strawberry version.
- Rice Krispie Cereal – Gives these treats their classic crispy, crunchy texture and holds everything together.
- Strawberry Quik – Adds strawberry flavor and gives the marshmallow mixture that pretty pink color.
- Butter – Helps melt the marshmallows smoothly and adds a little richness to the treats.
- Mini Marshmallows – Melt into the butter to create the sweet, sticky base that holds the cereal together.
- White Chocolate Chips – Melt easily for drizzling over the cooled treats and add a creamy white chocolate finish.
- Valentine Sprinkles – Add a fun pop of color and make these strawberry treats extra cute for Valentine’s Day.
How to Make Strawberry Rice Krispie Treats
These strawberry Rice Krispie treats come together in just a few simple steps. Here’s how to make them:
Step 1: Melt the butter and marshmallows.
Add the butter and mini marshmallows to a large saucepan over low heat. Stir frequently until the marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture is smooth with no lumps remaining.

Step 2: Add the strawberry Nesquik.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the strawberry Nesquik powder. Keep stirring until the powder is completely dissolved and the marshmallow mixture is evenly pink.

Step 3: Stir in the Rice Krispies.
Add the Rice Krispies to the pink marshmallow mixture and gently fold everything together. Keep stirring until the cereal is evenly coated without crushing the cereal.

Step 4: Shape the treats and let them cool.
Divide the mixture evenly between 12 well-greased mini cheesecake pans or muffin tins. Gently press the mixture into each one so the treats hold their shape, but don’t pack them down too firmly
Set the pans aside and let the treats cool completely before removing them. This gives the marshmallow mixture time to firm up so the treats come out cleanly.

Pro Tip: Grease your hands or the back of a spoon before pressing the Rice Krispie mixture into the pans. It keeps the sticky mixture from clinging and makes shaping the treats much easier
Step 5: Melt the white chocolate.
Place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in short intervals, stirring well after each one. White chocolate can scorch easily, so use short bursts and stop heating as soon as it’s smooth.

Step 6: Decorate.
Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the cooled treats, then immediately add the Valentine sprinkles while the chocolate is still soft. Let the chocolate set before serving.
Tips for the Best Rice Krispie Treats
- Keep the heat low: High heat can make the marshmallow mixture too firm once it cools, so melt everything gently and take it off the heat as soon as it’s smooth.
- Work quickly after adding the cereal: The mixture thickens as it sits, which can make it harder to shape. Have your greased pans ready before you start mixing.
- Don’t pack the mixture too tightly: Press just enough to hold the treats together. Overpacking can make them dense instead of soft and chewy.
- Use short bursts for the white chocolate: Microwave it for 15–20 seconds at a time, stirring well between each interval. If it looks almost melted, keep stirring instead of continuing to heat it.
- Let the treats cool before decorating: Warm Rice Krispie treats can cause the white chocolate to melt or slide off, so give them enough time to firm up first.
- Grease the pans well: The melted marshmallow mixture can stick around the edges, especially in small molds. A light, even coating makes the finished treats much easier to remove.
